Kochi, Kerala: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is set to host the largest-ever National Maritime Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX-24) along with the 22nd National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board Meeting in Kochi on November 28-29, 2024. This landmark event, themed “Enhancing SAR Capabilities Through Regional Collaboration,” aims to elevate maritime safety standards in the region and beyond.

SAREX-24 will feature unprecedented real-time simulations designed to refine the skills necessary for effective Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. The event will emphasize collaborative efforts among regional and international maritime stakeholders, showcasing the ICG's commitment to advancing SAR capabilities and maritime security.

The two-day event will bring together experts from across the maritime sector, including more than 40 international observers from partner nations. Their participation underscores the importance of global cooperation in safeguarding lives at sea and addressing challenges in maritime safety.

The 22nd NMSAR Board Meeting, held alongside SAREX-24, will serve as a crucial platform for discussing strategies, technologies, and innovations to enhance SAR preparedness. It will further strengthen partnerships and foster regional collaboration to ensure safer seas.
