By A Staff Reporter — Agra, Uttar Pradesh: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has taken a significant step in advancing pilot and crew training with the inauguration of the C295 Training Centre in Agra. Central Air Commander Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit introduced the newly established facility, which is designed to support training for the recently inducted C295 aircraft.
Speaking at the event, Air Marshal Dixit highlighted the importance of the centre in the IAF’s modernization efforts. "The C295 Training Centre, inaugurated today, includes a range of simulators catering to pilots, engineers, and maintenance personnel," he stated. These simulators allow trainees to practice flight operations, repairs, and maintenance in a controlled environment, which is crucial for the smooth operation of the aircraft in real-world conditions.
One of the centre's key features is its capability to prepare pilots for adverse weather and challenging flight scenarios without the need to take aircraft airborne. This approach not only enhances safety during training but also reduces operational costs, as simulators can recreate challenging scenarios without the risks involved in actual flight.
The addition of the C295 Training Centre underscores the IAF’s focus on strengthening operational preparedness and ensuring personnel are well-equipped to handle the diverse environments in which they operate. The C295, known for its versatility and robust design, is expected to boost the IAF’s tactical airlift capabilities, and the dedicated training centre will play a vital role in supporting its operational readiness.
