Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing the state assembly today, reaffirmed his government's commitment to a fair and transparent investigation into the Vimal Negi case. Responding to former CM Jairam Thakur’s statement that Negi’s family wanted a CBI probe, Sukhu stated that Negi’s wife had expressed faith in the state government’s inquiry for the next 15 days.

"Former CM (Jairam Thakur) said that Vimal Negi's family members want a CBI inquiry. I have been told that his (Negi's) wife has said that she has full faith in the Chief Minister. She has given 15 days for the inquiry, and after that, she will decide on the next course of action," Sukhu said.

The Chief Minister thanked Negi’s wife for her trust and reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency. "Our government works with transparency, and those who are transparent need not be afraid," he asserted.

The remarks come amid political debates over the handling of the case, with the opposition pushing for a CBI probe. The government has assured a thorough investigation, while the victim’s family remains open to reviewing the findings after two weeks.
