Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, along with Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Rao Narendra and other party representatives, arrived at the Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh on Wednesday to submit a memorandum to Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh.
Speaking to reporters, Hooda said the delegation had raised three major concerns in the memorandum — farmer losses, a large-scale financial scam, and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
“We have three main issues — first is of the losses happening to the farmers. They are not getting MSP, nor are they getting any sort of compensation,” Hooda said. He alleged that farmers across Haryana were struggling due to government apathy and demanded immediate relief measures.
The Congress leader further alleged a massive corruption case in the state’s administration. “There has been a scam of thousands of crores of rupees and there should be an investigation on this,” he asserted.
Raising concerns over public safety, Hooda said, “The second one is the ransom calls taking place openly. The Union Minister's report states that the state of Haryana is the most unsafe one.”
