Guwahati — Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma raised pointed questions about the financial dealings of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, following the Enforcement Directorate's chargesheet in the National Herald case. Sarma criticized Rahul Gandhi's repeated allegations against business tycoons like Adani and Ambani, questioning how, as a member of a political family, he managed to turn Rs 50 lakhs into Rs 2000 crores.

Sarma further emphasized, “Congress people should demand Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to give back this Rs 2000 crore to the party,” citing the dilapidated state of Congress party offices and claiming that while the Gandhis accumulate wealth, ordinary party workers suffer.
