Guwahati, Assam | Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced the launch of a new initiative to provide essential commodities at subsidised rates across all fair price shops in the state, describing it as a step toward achieving the government’s Antyodaya mission of inclusive welfare.
Taking to social media, Sarma revealed the new rates for three key household items — masur dal at ₹69 per kg, sugar at ₹38 per kg, and salt at ₹10 per kg. “Is it possible? Yes in Assam it is! Beginning today, for the first time across all fair price shops we are offering these essentials BELOW market prices. Antyodaya is our aim, objective and mission,” the Chief Minister posted.
