Shimla: As Himachal Pradesh gears up for its upcoming Assembly session, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday claimed that the opposition is fully prepared to raise key issues concerning governance, security and public welfare. Speaking to reporters, Thakur said several subjects of public significance have already been notified for discussion in the House.
The senior BJP leader alleged a sharp deterioration in law and order over the past three years, stating that incidents of violence and theft have become increasingly common. “The situation has deteriorated to the extent that broad daylight shootings and incidents of loot are taking place,” Thakur said, warning that the growing influence of criminal networks posed a serious challenge to civilian safety.
He further claimed that mafia groups have strengthened their grip across various sectors, leaving the government unable to assert effective control. According to Thakur, the opposition will press for accountability, seek answers on crime management and highlight public distress during the session.
