Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday expressed concern over the widespread devastation caused by floods and cloudbursts across several northern states, including Himachal, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
In a post on social media, Sukhu described the situation as the “unimaginable wrath of nature’s fury,” while extending solidarity to people affected in neighbouring regions. “My heart goes out equally to our sisters and brothers in the adjoining states of Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand — who too are battling floods, cloudbursts, and widespread devastation,” he said.
Heavy rains and extreme weather have triggered landslides, flash floods, and infrastructure damage in Himachal Pradesh over the past weeks, displacing thousands of residents and disrupting connectivity. Similar conditions have been reported in adjoining states, where relief and rescue operations are underway.
