RANCHI: Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced significant updates regarding Jharkhand’s legislative and administrative initiatives during a press briefing on Tuesday.

He revealed that Stephen Marandi has been selected as the protem speaker of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The Assembly session is scheduled to commence from December 9 and will conclude on December 12. This session is expected to address critical state issues and finalize upcoming welfare initiatives.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to women’s welfare, Soren confirmed that benefits under the Maiya Samman Yojana will be distributed starting December. This scheme aims to provide financial and social support to women, particularly in rural and marginalized communities.

The Chief Minister also addressed concerns regarding the recent deaths of candidates during the physical test phase of the Jharkhand Police recruitment drive. He assured that a detailed investigation would be conducted to determine the causes and circumstances behind these tragic incidents.

“The government is deeply committed to ensuring transparency, fairness, and the safety of candidates in recruitment processes,” Soren emphasized.

This announcement comes as the state gears up for crucial discussions in the Assembly, with the government under scrutiny for its handling of welfare programs and administrative issues. Public anticipation is high regarding the outcomes of the session, particularly on matters like rural development, employment, and law and order.

As the state prepares for this legislative session, the Chief Minister’s focus on welfare schemes and accountability reflects the government’s intent to address key public concerns. Further developments are expected as the Assembly convenes next month.
