Uttarakhand | In a tragic incident early this morning, a helicopter operated by Aryan Aviation crashed near Gaurikund while flying from Shri Kedarnath ji to Aryan Helipad in Guptkashi. The aircraft, a Bell 407 model bearing registration number VT-BKA, had taken off at 05:19 AM. Onboard were five passengers, including an infant, and one crew member.
According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the helicopter was flying the sector frequently used by pilgrims visiting the revered Kedarnath shrine. The accident site near Gaurikund is part of the high-altitude Char Dham Yatra route, which witnesses heavy helicopter movement during the pilgrimage season.
Authorities have yet to release details on casualties or survivors, and search and rescue efforts are underway in coordination with local administration and disaster response teams.
