New Delhi: A thick blanket of haze shrouded the national capital on Monday, with the city’s air quality index (AQI) remaining in the “very poor” category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Officials warned that pollution levels are likely to deteriorate further to the “severe” category by Tuesday due to stagnant winds and rising emissions from stubble burning in neighbouring states.

Visibility dropped sharply across several parts of Delhi, affecting early morning commuters. Authorities have advised residents to limit outdoor activities, particularly for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.
