Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Election Officer Pankaj Agrawal has outlined the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, scheduled for October 5. He confirmed that the final voter list was published on August 27, in accordance with the Election Commission's guidelines.

Agrawal explained that the deadline for filing nominations was set for September 12. Requests from voters for amendments to the voter list, submitted through Forms 6 and 8, were processed by September 2, allowing for the finalization of the list ahead of the nominations deadline.

The total number of eligible voters in Haryana for this election is approximately 2,03,54,350, indicating a significant electorate ready to exercise their franchise.

As the state approaches the election date, officials are working diligently to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process. Voter awareness initiatives and logistical arrangements are expected to enhance participation, aiming for a robust turnout in the assembly elections.
