Kaithal, Haryana: Haryana Minister Anil Vij has voiced strong support for the "One Nation, One Election" proposal, calling it a significant step that will propel India's development. Speaking in favor of the initiative, Vij emphasized that the decision should have been implemented right after India’s independence but was overlooked by previous governments.

"One Nation, One Election is a decision that will take the country forward," Vij said. "This should have been taken immediately after independence, but these issues were not on the agenda of the governments that were formed." He further explained that the frequent elections across the country create unnecessary obstacles, diverting attention from development work.

Vij underscored the potential benefits of synchronized elections, asserting that constant electoral processes disrupt governance and hinder the focus on nation-building. "Only elections keep happening throughout the year, no attention is paid to work," he remarked, highlighting how the regular cycle of elections in various states and at the national level consumes valuable time and resources.

The minister also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, linking the success of this goal with the streamlined electoral process. "PM Narendra Modi wants to make India a developed nation by 2047. Frequent elections create obstacles to the development of the country," Vij said.
