Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday announced financial assistance of ₹10 crore to flood-affected Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, underscoring solidarity with the neighbouring states battling the impact of heavy rains and flooding.

In a social media post, Saini described the situation in the two states as “extremely heartbreaking” and said the Haryana government, along with its people, stands firmly with the affected families. “Assistance of ₹5-5 crore each has been sent to Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This aid will assist in relief and rescue operations and help in quickly reaching assistance to the affected families,” he said.

The Chief Minister added that Haryana’s effort is to provide every possible form of support and assured that further assistance would be extended if required. “We assure all affected families that Haryana will always be ready to help them. In this difficult time, we will all together face this disaster. Haryana, Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir – united, we will overcome this crisis,” Saini stated.
