Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has sharply criticized the previous Congress government, accusing them of exploiting farmers and committing injustices against marginalized communities. Speaking at a recent event in Chandigarh, Saini outlined the differences between the current administration and its predecessor, emphasizing the actions taken by his government to support farmers.
"The Congress government used to loot the lands of the farmers," Saini claimed, alleging widespread land acquisition practices under Congress rule that targeted the agricultural community. He contrasted this with his government's approach, stating, "Our government has not even acquired an inch of land from the farmers," emphasizing a commitment to protecting farmers' interests and property rights.
Saini also highlighted the alleged mistreatment of Dalits during the decade-long Congress administration. "During the 10 years of the Congress government, a lot of atrocities were committed against the Dalits," he said, pointing to a history of social injustices that he claims have been addressed under his leadership.
To further distinguish his government's achievements, Saini noted the financial support extended to farmers in recent years. "Our government in the past ten years has deposited Rs 13,276 crore in the bank accounts of farmers," he stated, showcasing the direct financial aid aimed at boosting the agricultural sector and ensuring the welfare of farmers.
These remarks come as part of a broader effort by the Haryana government to portray itself as a defender of farmer rights and social justice, contrasting its record with that of previous administrations.
