Panchkula: In the aftermath of the recent violence in Murshidabad, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has expressed strong condemnation, calling the situation “very unfortunate” and emphasizing the state government’s responsibility to maintain law and order. He also accused political leaders of exploiting such incidents for vote bank politics.

“It is very unfortunate. Such a situation should not exist. The responsibility for the law and order situation is with the state government. But they are sacrificing the lives of people for their vote bank politics,” Saini said, speaking to the press.

Saini also took the opportunity to defend the controversial Waqf Bill, which has been criticized by some sections of the political spectrum. “The Waqf Bill has not taken anyone's land,” he asserted, countering accusations that the legislation was unfairly benefiting one community. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing past policy errors and improving the situation.

“The Muslim community will also benefit from it,” Saini added, trying to shift the focus towards the benefits the bill could bring, including better management and transparency in the administration of Waqf properties.
