Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party during a press conference, alleging that it had misled people for decades by relying on its association with the freedom movement while failing to deliver on governance.
“Congress ruled for 55 years by misleading and exploiting people, using its freedom struggle legacy to collect votes. Mahatma Gandhi had said Congress should dissolve after Independence, but its leaders kept it alive for power and pushed the nation into darkness,” Saini said.
He further accused the opposition party of avoiding substantive debates on policy and governance, instead focusing on allegations that undermine institutions. “Now, instead of raising real issues, they blame EVMs, claim the Constitution is in danger, or allege ‘vote theft’,” he remarked.
Directly addressing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Saini asked, “Rahul Gandhi, do you have any real issues to raise?”
