Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced the expansion of the Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan scheme, which will facilitate pilgrimages for low-income families across the state. Speaking to the media, Saini revealed that families with an annual income of less than ₹1.8 lakh will be eligible to participate in the scheme, which includes trips to prominent religious sites such as Prayagraj. These pilgrimages will be organized via buses, ensuring comfortable and accessible transportation for the beneficiaries.
“All our ministers and MLAs will go to Prayagraj on their own, and I may also visit there in a day or two,” Saini added, emphasizing that the government officials will bear their own travel expenses, underscoring the administration's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of common citizens.

The Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan scheme aims to support spiritual journeys for those who might otherwise be unable to afford such trips, offering them the opportunity to visit sacred destinations across the country. Prayagraj, known for the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, holds significant religious importance, attracting millions of pilgrims, especially during events like the Kumbh Mela.
