Mumbai: Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel on Tuesday confirmed the tragic deaths of three tourists from Gujarat in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Speaking to media, Patel said the central government is actively coordinating efforts to bring back the bodies and is providing medical assistance to two others who were injured and are currently being treated in Anantnag.
“Three tourists from Gujarat died in the Pahalgam attack. The central government is helping to get their bodies back to the state, and also helping to look after the two injured people who are in Anantnag now,” Patel said.
The attack, which targeted civilians and security forces in the usually serene region of Pahalgam, has sent shockwaves across the country, drawing widespread condemnation and triggering emergency response measures. Patel also noted that the state, in collaboration with central authorities, is working to ensure the safe return of other Gujarati tourists who were in the area at the time of the incident.
“We are trying to get back the remaining Gujarati tourists as well,” he added, underlining the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all its citizens.
Patel affirmed that the central government is prepared to respond firmly to the terror strike. “The central government is prepared to take action against this incident,” he stated, echoing sentiments of national resolve voiced by several other leaders in recent days.
