Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel convened a high-level meeting with the state administration on Tuesday to finalize preparations for upcoming festivals and major commemorations in 2025.
The state government has outlined ambitious plans to celebrate several landmark anniversaries. These include the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a towering figure in India’s independence movement, and the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose legacy remains influential in Indian politics.
Additionally, the government will mark the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a symbol of indigenous resistance against colonial rule. Other significant milestones include the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution and the 50th anniversary of the Emergency declared in 1975.
During the meeting, CM Patel emphasized the importance of ensuring that these celebrations resonate with the public and reflect the contributions of these historical figures and events. Plans discussed included cultural programs, exhibitions, educational campaigns, and public outreach initiatives.
The government is expected to announce a detailed roadmap for these commemorations in the coming weeks. The meeting also reviewed preparations for festivals across Gujarat to ensure smooth and safe celebrations.
