Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday honoured municipalities and municipal corporations that demonstrated notable efforts in maintaining urban cleanliness. The recognition was given under the Nirmal Gujarat Award initiative, during a ceremony held in Gandhinagar.
According to Patel, the awards serve as both an acknowledgment of past efforts and an encouragement for local bodies to continue prioritising hygiene and sanitation. Along with trophies, award cheques were presented to the winning civic institutions as a gesture of appreciation.
Patel highlighted that public cooperation plays a critical role in maintaining cleaner cities. “Heartiest congratulations to all the winning municipalities and the citizens,” he stated, underscoring the need for a collective approach to cleanliness.
