Gandhinagar — Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved the Artificial Intelligence Action Plan 2025–2030, marking a significant step toward integrating AI technologies into public administration, governance, and welfare systems across the state.
The plan is designed to leverage AI for smart decision-making, citizen-centric policy delivery, efficient government services, and targeted welfare implementation, according to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office. The initiative aims to transform how data is used within the state’s departments to ensure more responsive, data-driven governance.
The AI Action Plan is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national vision of establishing India as a global hub for digital empowerment and emerging technologies. Gujarat’s adoption of AI at the state level reflects broader efforts to embed cutting-edge technology into public sector frameworks.
Officials have indicated that the multi-phase plan will include the development of AI infrastructure, training of government personnel, collaboration with research institutions, and implementation in key sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, urban planning, and law enforcement.
