Delhi: Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday said recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms would have a transformative impact on the food processing sector, describing it as the industry most positively affected by the changes.
Speaking at an event, Paswan noted that the food processing sector touches “every single household” and directly benefits farmers, small businesses, and consumers. “With these tax reductions, not only will every family benefit, but farmers and all stakeholders associated with this sector will also see positive effects,” he said.
The minister added that the reforms are expected to open new avenues for growth, enabling the informal sector to move toward greater formalisation. This, he said, would help expand the industry’s reach, improve supply chains, and create better market opportunities for producers and entrepreneurs.
