New Delhi: The government on Saturday issued a strict directive to IndiGo as flight disruptions continued to affect thousands of passengers across the country. The Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered the airline to complete all pending refunds for cancelled flights by Sunday evening, following growing complaints of delays, chaos and stranded travellers.
The ministry also instructed IndiGo to ensure that all baggage separated from passengers during the disruptions is delivered within the next two days. Airports in major cities have reported piles of unclaimed luggage and long queues of passengers seeking assistance after widespread operational breakdowns hit the airline’s schedule.
Officials said the directive aims to bring immediate relief to affected passengers, many of whom were left without clarity on refunds, rerouting options or baggage status. The ministry has sought detailed compliance reports from IndiGo and warned that any negligence in passenger handling will attract further action.
