Mumbai, Maharashtra: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chaddha on Wednesday described the car bomb explosion near the Red Fort as “a very serious issue,” extending his condolences to the families of the victims and urging decisive government action. Speaking in Mumbai, Chaddha said the nation stands united in grief and demanded that those responsible for the blast be identified and punished without delay.

“This is a very serious issue. I offer condolences to the families of those who left us after this terrible blast... The whole nation stands united with the government. The government should take strict decisions, and the accused in these anti-national activities should not be spared. Such elements need to be identified and eliminated from our society. The government should take strong decisions and take strict action against the accused,” the MP said.

Chaddha’s comments come amid mounting public concern over the incident and calls from multiple quarters for an immediate, transparent investigation. He stressed that while condolences and solidarity are necessary, they must be matched by firm administrative and security responses to prevent recurrence. His remarks framed the blast not only as an act with immediate human cost but also as a challenge to public safety that requires sustained attention.

Local authorities have said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion; national political figures and civil society leaders have similarly voiced sorrow and demanded accountability. Analysts say such high-profile incidents often prompt urgent reassessments of security protocols at major landmarks and transport corridors.
