Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh is set to make a landmark stride in technology and digital infrastructure as Google prepares to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state government for a massive 1 GW project, Minister Nara Lokesh announced on Monday.
Sharing the development on social media, Lokesh said, “In October 2024, my visit to Google HQ in the USA sparked a vision — bringing one of the world’s biggest tech giants to #AndhraPradesh for a game-changing investment. After a year of intense discussions and relentless effort, tomorrow we make history. @Google will sign an MOU with the Govt of Andhra Pradesh for a 1 GW project with an investment of $10 billion USD. It is a massive leap for our state’s digital future, innovation, and global standing. This is just the beginning.”
The investment is expected to significantly bolster Andhra Pradesh’s digital infrastructure, foster innovation, and create new opportunities in technology and renewable energy sectors. The 1 GW project also aligns with the state’s vision of becoming a leading hub for global tech investments.
Officials described the agreement as a “historic milestone” that will strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s global footprint in the tech ecosystem, while paving the way for further collaborations with international technology giants.
