Goa: Leader of Opposition in the Goa Assembly, Yuri Alemao, has raised alarms over the ongoing illegal hill cutting in the state, comparing the potential consequences to the recent Wayanad disaster. He stated, "It is shocking to see the way hill cutting is happening, and a Wayanad-like incident should not happen in Goa." Alemao further claimed that such activities could not occur without the involvement of bureaucrats, police, and politicians, noting that there are around 200 cases of illegal hill cutting. He emphasized that this poses a significant law and order problem in Goa.
