Panaji, Goa — In a decisive step to improve road safety and reduce accidents, the Government of Goa, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, has launched the ‘Wrong Side of the Road’ campaign. The initiative is aimed at addressing the growing concern of reckless and negligent driving on Goan roads.
A key feature of the campaign is the introduction of mandatory 45-minute educational films for traffic violators and first-time offenders. These films, to be screened at Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the state, are designed to sensitize drivers to the consequences of careless driving and instill responsible road behaviour.
Additionally, driver sensitization tab labs are being established at all RTOs, providing interactive educational sessions using digital tools to enhance the learning experience.
“This campaign is a wake-up call for those who endanger lives by flouting traffic rules,” said CM Sawant. “Our goal is not just enforcement, but also education and behavioural change.”
