Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant was felicitated on Tuesday at the National Conclave on Financial Inclusion held in Panaji, in recognition of his sustained efforts to promote financial empowerment and inclusive development in the state. The event convened a wide spectrum of stakeholders including policymakers, banking leaders, financial institutions, and grassroots organizations.
The conclave served as a platform to deliberate on strategies for deepening financial access, particularly for rural and underserved populations across India. Discussions covered key themes such as digital banking, financial literacy, credit access for small businesses, and the role of technology in bridging economic gaps.
In his address, CM Sawant emphasized the importance of financial inclusion as a cornerstone of socio-economic progress. He highlighted Goa’s ongoing initiatives such as women-led self-help groups, digital banking penetration, and startup-friendly financial ecosystems, aimed at ensuring no citizen is left behind in the financial mainstream.
“Financial empowerment is the foundation for inclusive growth. Our government is committed to ensuring that every individual, regardless of geography or background, has access to the tools and opportunities needed to thrive economically,” Sawant said.
