Sankhali, Goa — In a significant push to enhance rural mobility and support private bus operators, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday launched the Mhaji Bus Scheme 2025 and a dedicated Fuel & Insurance Subsidy Drive for the Bicholim and Sattari talukas.

The launch event was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali, in the presence of Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho and Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL) Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sawant said the scheme is part of the state government’s broader commitment to strengthening public transport in Goa’s hinterland. “The Mhaji Bus Scheme 2025 will ensure better connectivity for people in remote areas, while the fuel and insurance subsidies will support private bus operators and ensure uninterrupted service,” he said.

The initiative aims to provide financial relief and operational support to small and medium-scale bus owners, encouraging wider participation in Goa’s public transport system.
