Panaji, Goa: In a significant stride toward integrating artificial intelligence with law enforcement, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday launched two AI-powered tools—‘Radical Content Analyzer’ and ‘Spot The Scam’—developed jointly by Goa Police and BITS Pilani, KK Birla Goa Campus. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the state’s cyber surveillance capabilities and promoting smart policing.
The launch took place in the presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Goa, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Superintendent of Police (North Goa), and the Director of BITS Pilani. Students and faculty involved in the project were also present.
The ‘Radical Content Analyzer’ is an advanced video analysis tool designed to detect radical or extremist content online. By scanning video materials for specific cues and patterns, the tool will assist law enforcement agencies in identifying and addressing potentially harmful digital propaganda in real-time.
The ‘Spot The Scam’ tool is designed to analyze websites and APK files for signs of fraud or security threats. It provides instant risk assessments, helping the police and public protect themselves from online scams and malicious software.
“Heartiest congratulations to the students who have worked to develop these AI-based systems,” CM Sawant posted on social media. “These tools shall enable police for smart policing in the state.”
