Agassaim, Goa, June 16: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ project in Agassaim, located in the St. Andre Constituency, marking a major step forward in the state’s mission to ensure clean and accessible drinking water for every rural household.
The project, executed under the Jal Jeevan Mission, features critical water infrastructure including a 2000 cubic metre Ground Level Reservoir (GLR) and a 650 cubic metre Overhead Reservoir (OHR). These facilities are engineered to maintain consistent water pressure and supply across the region, supporting the government's objective of universal household tap water coverage.
“Today’s inauguration is a milestone in Goa’s journey toward water security and rural empowerment,” said CM Sawant, addressing a gathering of local residents and officials. “Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, we are committed to delivering tap water to every household, ensuring improved public health and quality of life.”
The project is expected to benefit hundreds of families in Agassaim and nearby areas by reducing dependence on irregular water tankers and traditional sources like wells and handpumps.
