Porvorim, Goa – Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant convened a crucial meeting at Mantralaya, Porvorim, to review and discuss the progress of Forest Rights Claims under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006. The meeting was attended by top state officials including the Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Collectors from North and South Goa, Director of Tribal Welfare, senior officers from the Forest Department, Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF), DSLRs, and nodal officers.

The discussions focused on the timely processing and verification of claims filed by tribal communities, aiming to ensure their rightful access to forest lands and resources as mandated by the FRA. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to accelerate claim approvals and address any bottlenecks in implementation.
