New Delhi / Patna: Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday launched a blistering attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his recent remark that if the INDIA bloc is voted to power in Bihar, it would “throw the amended Waqf Act in the dustbin.” Singh accused Yadav of undermining the Constitution and indulging in divisive politics for electoral gains.

“Who is Tejashwi Yadav? The son of Lalu Yadav, a man steeped in corruption. These are people who try to muzzle the Constitution. They first became ‘parivarvadi’ (dynasts), then called themselves ‘samajwadi’ (socialists), and now they have turned into ‘nawazwadi’,” Singh said, taking a swipe at what he described as the RJD’s evolving brand of minority appeasement.

The Union Minister, known for his hardline stance, warned that such statements are a threat to constitutional order. “A law passed in Parliament cannot be discarded on a whim. This is not Pakistan. The people of Bihar will never allow anyone to impose Sharia Law here,” he declared.

Tejashwi Yadav had recently criticized the amendments to the Waqf Act, calling them discriminatory and vowing to repeal them if his alliance returned to power. His remarks have stirred a fresh political storm in Bihar, which is gearing up for assembly elections in the near future.

Singh’s response reflects the BJP's broader narrative portraying the INDIA bloc as appeasers, disconnected from constitutional governance. “They are dreaming, but these dreams will never come true. Bihar has rejected this kind of politics before, and it will do so again,” Singh concluded.
