New Delhi, August 4: Union Minister Giriraj Singh strongly criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his recent claim that his name had been removed from the voter list, accusing him of spreading falsehoods and attempting to undermine the credibility of the Election Commission (EC). Singh alleged that both Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were deliberately misleading the public over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
“Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav only lie and spread confusion. While lying over SIR, he lied about his own voter ID as well,” Singh said, referring to Tejashwi Yadav’s public statement alleging the deletion of his name from the voters’ list in Bihar.
Giriraj Singh defended the Election Commission, calling it a constitutional institution that must be respected. “This (EC) is a Constitutional institution but they did not spare this either; they criticised it without basis. Someone who considers himself a future Chief Minister — if Tejashwi Yadav speaks such petty lies and spreads confusion, then that institution will definitely take the legal route,” he remarked.
