Navi Mumbai: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Monday inspected the ongoing work at Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (NMIAL), the special purpose vehicle responsible for the design, development, construction, operation, maintenance, management, and expansion of the upcoming greenfield international airport in Maharashtra.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport project is being implemented as a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) between Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (a subsidiary of Adani Airports Holdings Ltd.), which holds a 74 percent stake, and the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO), which retains a 26 percent stake.

According to officials, NMIAL aims to build a sustainable and efficient airport to meet the growing air traffic needs of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Western India, while enhancing India’s global connectivity. The project is designed to ease congestion at Mumbai’s existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and provide state-of-the-art passenger and cargo facilities.
