Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh: A gas leak incident at a pharmaceutical company in Paravada, Anakapalli, has drawn sharp criticism from former Andhra Pradesh Minister and YSRCP leader Gudivada Amarnath.
Expressing his concerns, Amarnath said, “These incidents have been happening very frequently. I appeal to the government to take this very seriously, and stringent action should be taken against the companies responsible.”
He criticized the lack of response from government officials, adding, “I don't find any of the ministers coming and visiting the spots or consoling the patients in hospitals. This is not a political issue but an industrial safety failure.”
Highlighting the company’s alleged negligence, Amarnath urged the state government to enhance safety oversight. “The norms followed by the company should be strictly monitored by the State Government. Safety audits must be conducted every 3-6 months to prevent such incidents,” he asserted.
The incident has sparked concerns over the recurring safety lapses in industrial areas, with many urging a thorough investigation into the company’s compliance with safety standards. Residents and workers have raised questions about the enforcement of industrial safety regulations.
The Andhra Pradesh State Government is yet to issue an official statement on the incident. Local authorities and emergency teams are working on damage control, and the affected individuals are receiving medical attention.
This incident serves as a reminder of the urgent need for stricter safety protocols and regular monitoring in high-risk industrial zones to safeguard lives and prevent future tragedies.
