Garvi Gurjari, the flagship initiative of the Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation, has achieved a record ₹31.47 crore in sales for the year 2024–25. This marks the second consecutive year of historic growth, underscoring the rising popularity of Gujarat’s traditional arts and crafts.
The initiative, backed strongly by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, continues to promote the rich cultural heritage of the state by supporting over 8,000 artisans. These skilled craftspeople specialise in a variety of traditional crafts, including intricate beadwork, detailed hand embroidery, vibrant woven textiles, and distinctive tribal art.
“This growth reflects the increasing appreciation and demand for Gujarat’s handcrafted products across India and beyond,” said officials associated with Garvi Gurjari. The program not only helps preserve age-old craftsmanship but also provides sustainable livelihoods to thousands of artisans, empowering rural communities across the state.
