Delhi: Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot lauded the ongoing Mohalla bus trial in the capital, emphasizing that the initiative is part of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s vision to improve last-mile connectivity for Delhi's residents. Speaking about the expansion of the trial, Gahlot said, "We have picked up one more route for the Mohalla bus trial. It was the vision of Arvind Kejriwal to connect the first and last mile so that we resolve the issues of the people of Delhi."
The Mohalla buses, which are smaller in size compared to the regular public buses, are designed to navigate narrower streets and reach underserved areas, offering a solution to long-standing transportation challenges in Delhi. "For the first time in the country, under the leadership and vision of Arvind Kejriwal, there are small buses—famous as Mohalla buses now," Gahlot added, pointing to the widespread recognition the service has garnered.
The initiative has been well-received by the public, with Gahlot noting the positive feedback from residents. "People are appreciating this," he said, underscoring the impact the trial has had on easing daily commutes for many. The government’s focus on local connectivity aims to ensure that all citizens, regardless of where they live, have access to efficient public transportation.
