Hyderabad, Telangana | Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's recent remarks concerning actor Allu Arjun and the film industry.
In a statement, Reddy expressed his disapproval, stating, "Congress government, especially the Chief Minister of Congress party, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, while targeting the field of cinema, cinema actors, producers, actors, is today insulting people, especially on the issue of Allu Arjun."
The controversy stems from a tragic incident during the premiere of Allu Arjun's film "Pushpa 2," where a stampede occurred, resulting in a woman's death and her son's injury. Following the incident, CM Revanth Reddy criticized Allu Arjun, suggesting that celebrities should manage their fans to prevent such tragedies. He also stated that the police had denied permission for any event at Sandhya Theatre due to safety concerns, implying that the actor's actions contributed to the incident.
In response, G Kishan Reddy condemned the arrest of Allu Arjun, labeling it as "high-handedness of the administration." He further accused the Congress government of "witch-hunting" the Telugu film industry, suggesting that the administration was unfairly targeting cinema professionals.
