Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Congress chief Rajesh Thakur has issued a scathing statement demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s resignation or an apology to the nation. Thakur alleged that Shah insulted BR Ambedkar and accused the BJP of orchestrating a series of events aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Thakur stated, “We will keep protesting until Amit Shah either apologises to the whole country or resigns from his post. The way he insulted BR Ambedkar...the way ruckus was made to happen outside Parliament, the way FIR was registered against Rahul Gandhi...the two MPs they (BJP) have admitted (to hospital), someone could intentionally kill them...they can do anything to prove the attempt to murder charge (against Rahul Gandhi).”
The remarks follow heated political tensions, with the BJP accusing Rahul Gandhi of physically assaulting MPs during a scuffle in Parliament. Congress has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated.
