Srinagar — Amid a noticeable decline in the number of pilgrims visiting the revered Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Monday made an emotional appeal to devotees across the country to resume their visits, emphasizing the shrine's enduring spiritual significance and the need to restore public confidence following recent unrest.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Abdullah said, “We should go to Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra and appeal to the people to visit there. There has been a decrease in the number of devotees to Mata Vaishno Devi. People are scared after the tragedy of war that took place recently. The impact of the Pahalgam incident was seen throughout the country.”
