Farooq Abdullah Calls for Restoration of J&K Statehood
National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah demands the return of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and criticizes the central government's handling of regional issues, including power distribution.
Jammu: National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah voiced concerns over the lack of representation from Jammu and Kashmir in the region's secretariats, highlighting the disconnect between local issues and officials. He criticized the allocation of electricity produced in J&K to other states like Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, leading to frequent power cuts within the region. Abdullah emphasized the importance of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and pledged that, if his party forms the government, the local MLA from the constituency would be appointed a minister.
He also accused the central government of spreading hatred and claimed that the ruling party would not have secured over 140 seats in parliamentary elections without the Election Commission's assistance.
