Noida: In a determined push for farmers' rights, Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKS) leader Sukhbir Khalifa addressed the media, highlighting the challenges faced by farmers and the collective resolve to ensure justice for the nation’s 'annadata.'

"We have come with a tough spirit and a lot of passion and dedication, for the rights of our 'annadata'. Farmers are being exploited, but it will not happen anymore," Khalifa said, emphasizing the urgency of addressing farmer-related grievances.

A key demand of the BKS is the allocation of 10% plots for farmers, a measure they see as crucial for securing their livelihoods. Khalifa noted that assurances have been made for resolving their issues through Secretary-level talks, though no specific timeline has been announced.

"Till then, we will camp at Dalit Prerna Sthal. We will not move forward, but we will also not go back," he added, signaling the group’s steadfast commitment to their cause.

The gathering at Dalit Prerna Sthal has drawn attention to the plight of farmers, with Khalifa's statements reflecting a broader sentiment of frustration and determination. The farmers’ protest underscores ongoing concerns over land rights, compensation, and the need for systemic reforms to protect those at the heart of India’s agricultural economy.

As the farmers await the outcome of their discussions with officials, their presence in Noida serves as a reminder of the resilience and unity within India’s farming community.
