Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “serial liar” who, he alleged, continuously spreads misinformation. He made the remarks at a press conference in Mumbai, where he also expressed concern over some state leaders endorsing Gandhi’s statements.

“Rahul Gandhi is a serial liar who continuously spreads falsehoods. I feel very disappointed that suddenly some of our leaders in Maharashtra have started believing that Rahul Gandhi is speaking the truth, and are now aligning their lies with his,” Fadnavis said.

He asserted that such political strategies based on misinformation would not endure. “These lies will ultimately collapse. In the end, one has to face the people and win their votes,” he remarked.

Quoting poet Mirza Ghalib, Fadnavis added, “As Ghalib said, ‘Dil behlane ke liye khayal accha hai, Ghalib’,” suggesting that while Gandhi’s claims may serve as temporary narratives, they would not withstand public scrutiny.
