Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for restraint and non-political responses to the recent vandalism of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue. Describing the incident as "unfortunate" and "very sad," Fadnavis emphasized the need for a proper investigation and appropriate action against the culprits.

"The Navy has taken this matter seriously and formed an investigation committee. The committee has visited the site, and the Navy will conduct a thorough investigation," Fadnavis stated. He urged all parties, including opposition leaders, to avoid politicizing the issue, particularly criticizing NCP chief Sharad Pawar for his comments.

"Sharad Pawar is a senior leader; he knows this statue was installed by the Navy, not the state government. We oppose corruption, and it's surprising to hear statements that could be seen as supportive of it," Fadnavis concluded.
