Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday highlighted the growing legal and ethical challenges emerging technologies pose to societies worldwide. Addressing the 26th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World in Lucknow, he said that while technological advancements have made life “safer and simpler,” they have also created new vulnerabilities.
“While emerging technologies play a useful role in making life safer and simpler, they also present us with enormous legal challenges, leading to cybercrime, data theft, and a host of other new problems,” the chief minister said. He underscored that rapid digital expansion has outpaced existing legal frameworks, making global cooperation essential.
Calling the current era “volatile,” Adityanath stressed that justice systems, ethical principles, and international law must work in tandem to safeguard humanity’s collective interests. “In such volatile times, justice, ethics, and international law can play a crucial role in drawing a broad line for world peace and human civilisation,” he said.
