The Election Commission on Monday announced the schedule for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, marking the official start of the electoral process in the state. Soon after the announcement, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav described the elections as the “festival of democracy” and said that November 14 would be remembered as a “day of change” for Bihar.

In a detailed statement, Yadav criticized past governments for what he termed “neglect” in key sectors such as law enforcement, education, and healthcare. He alleged that the previous administration “protected criminals” and “allowed officials to act above the law,” which, according to him, hindered the state’s progress. He asserted that people across Bihar had been waiting for decades for an opportunity to transform governance.

Positioning himself as a candidate of change, Yadav pledged that under a Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) government, employment, education, healthcare, and livelihood would be prioritized. He promised to create job opportunities for every household and focus on food security, investment, and corruption-free governance.
