Uttar Pradesh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out search operations across multiple locations in connection with a fake degree racket linked to Monad University, located in Hapur district.
According to officials, the raids are being conducted at 16 premises, including the main campus of Monad University and Saraswati Medical College in Unnao. The remaining locations are reportedly associated with individuals accused in the case.
Officials said that most of the accused have already been arrested by the police and charge-sheeted in connection with the racket, which allegedly involved the issuance of fraudulent degrees and other academic documents.
The ED’s searches aim to trace the flow of funds generated through the fake degree network and identify any money-laundering activities connected to the case. Investigators are also examining financial records and digital evidence seized during the operation.
