Mandla, Madhya Pradesh: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh on Sunday stirred political waters by sharply criticizing External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar over his alleged statement suggesting that India had informed Pakistan in advance about targeting terrorist camps.

Speaking at a public event in Mandla, Singh acknowledged Jaishankar’s diplomatic acumen, noting, “S. Jaishankar is a highly experienced diplomat. His father was a renowned figure and a respected defence analyst.” However, Singh questioned the strategic logic behind the alleged pre-warning, adding, “But now, his own statement suggests that they informed them (Pakistan) in advance that they would be targeting terrorist camps. If you've already told the enemy that you're coming to attack, naturally, they will vacate the area.”

Continuing his critique, Singh argued that such disclosures weaken India’s tactical advantage in counter-terror operations. “When you warn your enemy beforehand, they will obviously be prepared,” he said, implying that the effectiveness of military strikes could be compromised by such advance notices.
